Aspen community members who are interested in the Pedestrian Mall Improvement Project are invited to join stakeholder teams to help provide input and dialogue for the project. The City of Aspen and its partner, Design Workshop, will look to the teams to add necessary voices, which will aid in the project’s success.

Team members will participate in upcoming Pedestrian Mall stakeholder listening meetings, which are designed to create a reciprocal dialogue about the project.

The project team has currently identified six primary stakeholder groups:

  • Visitors, Events, Tourism, and Recreation
  • Park Users and General Public
  • Operations, Maintenance, Access, Deliveries, and Mobility
  • Sustainability
  • Arts, History, and Culture
  • Mall Founders Committee

The project team also encourages the community to watch a brief video at aspenpedestrianmall.com featuring Aspen locals and visitors sharing their favorite memories of the pedestrian mall. One storyteller said, “…I’ve been here since the early 70s, and I’ve got to tell you, the malls are part of my favorite things about town. It’s my chance to go out, to talk to people, run-in to people, all the different generations, and say, ‘hello’”.
