Sunlight launches into its 51st season of operation as the home of the nationally recognized Best Family Ski Package as named by the National Ski Areas Association. New this season, Sunlight has added its first Ski, Swim, Stay lodging partner located in nearby Carbondale, a quintessential ski town that has been named one of the country’s best towns by National Geographic and Outside Magazine. Skiers and riders hip to the après ski scene will love “sleeping with the stills” at the Distillery Inn, the only Inn worldwide housed within a working distillery.
The World’s Most Expensive Lift Ticket Returns for 2017/18
Despite its small stature, Sunlight has achieved many notable milestones in the ski industry, including last season when it released the Sunny 700, known passionately as “the best lift ticket ever.” The one-day $700 lift ticket – the most expensive in the world – includes a pair of custom skis made by Meier and a day pass at nearby Iron Mountain Hot Springs. The Sunny 700 gained widespread national press attention including the Denver Post and the New York Times! This year the Sunny 700 returns with catchy new graphics and a wider 108mm waist. Constructed with the same dimensions (140-108-133) as Meier’s award-winning “Docs,” named after famed Wild West gun slinger and gambler Doc Holiday, skiers call these “the outlaws of the backcountry.”
There’s a New Mini-Mayor in Town!
With 3,948 votes, 5-year-old Colby Rogers of Rifle, Colo. claimed victory in Sunlight Mountain Resort’s Mini-Mayor election. It was a tight race, but Rogers edged out incumbent 9-year-old Gabby Noyes who served last year under the platform of helping other kids learn to ski. Mini-Mayor Rogers will continue to focus on getting more kids on skis, or a snowboard. As part of her role as Mini-Mayor, she’ll receive a free Sunlight season pass, a new pair of skis or a snowboard and, most importantly, a seat at Sunlight’s Executive Table.
Unlimited Skiing. Unlimited Hot Springs. Meet the NEW Sunny Soaker Pass!
Today Sunlight Mountain Resort launched a new pass option that adds season-long soaking at Glenwood Hot Springs in addition to skiing and riding at Sunlight for the 2017-18 season. Billed the Sunny Soaker Pass, the pass is valid everyday of Sunlight’s 115-day season running from Dec. 8, 2017 to April 1, 2018. image005.pngThe secret is out that Glenwood Springs is home to one of the best après ski experiences in the country, if not the World, so we’re extremely excited to offer this new season pass product that makes it a cinch to cap a great day on the mountain with a rejuvenating soak in the World’s largest natural hot springs pool.
