The Rifle Police department has confirmed that the police standoff this morning had resulted in the suicide of Child Abduction suspect Jody Haskin.

Haskin, 47, was the only suspect in a Grand Junction child abduction case who was the subject of an all-night manhunt near Rifle Thursday and into Friday morning has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to  Rifle Police Department spokeswoman Robin Steffan.

The 12 year old  child abducted was found earlier unharmed.

Thursday evening, shortly before 10pm, law enforcement officers located Raeanna Rosencrans, the 12 year old victim in the kidnapping investigation, at the Wal-Mart in Rifle. Raeanna is safe and in the custody of law enforcement in Rifle. She appears to be physically unharmed, but was transported to a local hospital to be checked out.

We are deeply grateful for the cooperation and support of the community, the media, and all of the partnering law enforcement agencies who aided in the safe return of Raeanna.
