Colorado Parks and Wildlife, are all celebrating Colorado Public Lands Day on Saturday, May 19. Free events, stewardship projects and outdoor adventures are being offered across the state to highlight the importance of public lands. 

Colorado was the first state in the nation to establish its own public lands day. In May 2016, Governor Hickenlooper signed the bipartisan bill into law. The purpose of this holiday is to celebrate the significant contributions that national, state, and local public lands within Colorado make to wildlife, outdoor recreation, the economy, and to Coloradans’ quality of life.

CLEER, CORE and Garfield Clean Energy have announced a free seminar “Building(s) for a Sustainable Future” is The symposium is aimed at accelerating energy innovations in the building sector.

Architect Ed MAZ RIA , a global expert on zero-energy buildings, will share his methods for changing the way buildings are designed, built and operated at a one-day symposium.

According to their press release Homes, schools and commercial buildings account for 40 percent of the energy used across the country.
ISix other experts in building energy will also speak at the event, called Buildings for a Sustainable Future. It is presented by CLEER, CORE and Garfield Clean Energy. The symposium will feature interactive, hands-on sessions for architects, builders, designers, real estate professionals,

And finally the city of glenwood springs would like to remind you that the towns Community Center will be closed for maintenance from May 16-22.
 
The Community Center will complete a number of maintenance projects during the closure including the application and curing of the new gymnasium floor, resurfacing and painting the fitness studio, coring and installing new climbing wall anchors,
 
The majority of the maintenance is scheduled to last until May 22 with a building re-open date of May 23. However, the gymnasium and dance/fitness room will not re open until the 29th.
