Crossman Dans(c)e, a contemporary dance company based in New York, looks at humanity in formalism or how the pedestrian can co-exist with the virtuosic.  Its work has been seen in New York at ​ ​DanceRoulette, La MaMa Moves!, Norte Maar’s Dance at Socrates, Abrons Art Center as part of Laurie Uprichard’s Travelogues, The 92nd Street Y and at Gibney Dance, curated by David Parker. Dylan is a recipient of a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant, a Jerome Foundation Emerging Choreographer grant and was a Schonberg Choreography Legacy Fellow at The Yard in 2016. ​Events:Artist In Residence Q&A with Dylan Crossman, FreeAugust 7th at 7pm at Beerworks Restaurant in Carbondale 


Dylan Crossman received his Bachelor’s degree from the Lab

an Centre in London. He moved to New York ten years ago and has danced for various choreographers including Brian Brooks, Wally Cardona and Sean Cúrran. Dylan joined the Merce Cunningham Dance Company in 2009 and was a part of the company’s final tour. He is on faculty at the Cunningham Trust, CUNY Purchase and Burklyn Ballet Theater (VT).  Dylan also works with children as well as adults, introducing them to Merce Cunningham’s creative ideas and philosophy.

He is joined by Sumi Clements, Artistic Director of Summation Dance (NYC) and MFA graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts; Jason Collins, dance-based performer and producer and BFA graduate of The Julliard School; and Christine Flores, BFA graduate of New World School of the Arts in Miami.
