Aspen Mountain Film Festival is a 5-day celebration of diverse mountain cultures, highlighting Aspen’s unique philosophy of body, mind, and spirit through documentary film, music, art, food, and stage with shared experiences of travel, adventure, environment, sustainability, community and extraordinary storytelling. Building on the 10-year success of Mountainfilm in Aspen, the City of Aspen’s historic Wheeler Opera House embarks on an exciting future by joining other mountain film festivals and producing a festival for Roaring Fork Valley residents and its visitors. Aspen Mountain Film Festival is looking forward to being welcomed as a member of the International Alliance for Mountain Film.

Wheeler Opera House Executive Director Gena Buhler states, “I’m very pleased to be announcing the re-branding of our annual documentary film festival as a key event in our festival portfolio. Aspen Mountain Film Festival will feature all of the high-caliber programming our audiences have come to expect on our screen, now specifically tailored to the Aspen audience. We are really looking forward to building on our past successes, continuing our tradition of excellent films in our historic venue, while focusing more on our local partnerships and long-standing relationships with film makers and guests.”
