Lydia Bain is a multifaceted artist. At the age of 4, she began her studies on the violin. She grew up in a very musical household where her mother, Judy Bain, was the director of Boreum Hill Talent education, a music school that was run out of their brownstone in Brooklyn, NY. A few years after her father, singer/songwriter, David Bain, passed away, she and her mother moved to Jackson, MS to be closer to family. At age 11, she began performing with local and touring musicians in venues around the state. She would sit in at every opportunity on violin (fiddle) and vocals, cultivating her own approach to improvisation. Her musical influences are a wide range of artists and genres, but growing up Mississippi, it always goes back to the Blues.
